False. People said that missiles are mostly OK, just need a small nerf on splash. The problem is that a group of morons griefed devs over IRC for weeks, until missiles got destroyed & dropships started to explode whenever wind direction changes. So if some of us had proto launchers with damage mods -- MLT guys cried "OP". We got our dmg, splash and range nerfed so badly, that people laugh at small launchers. (It's even worse with small railguns -- completely pointless weapon currently).

Yet again -- we did. It's just the griefers outnumber us 10:1. And while I'm at my day job, working for monies, they're at IRC, lobbying for their nerfs.

It is the single most common devtrap out there and sadly one that CCP has clearly fallen into.
And this is happening for a year now. They get something almost right, a group of vocal morons moans about it being OP, opinions to the contrary are not taken into account, next build destroys the weapon. I think only QA people should have saying in "nerf this, nerf that". That's what they're getting paid for.
Also IMHO when somebody asks for nerf they should have SP invested into this to at least ADV level, so that we know they confirmed first hand it is indeed in need of nerf. Otherwise it's just "make the game easier for me, by giving skilled people disadvantage, kthxbye". The flipside is that no sane person would do this. The second flipside is that if it's OP everybody would use it. So 99% of "pls nerf" is just "I'm unable to compete, please give me handicap bonus" BS. |
